I haven't had such a fun and memorable day in quite awhile. We went upstream to the dam and eventually discovered the hot springs where we spent most of the day hiking the canyon and enjoying the hot pools and waterfalls. On the way back, I looked at the fantastic scenery and said, "I hope I dream about this tonight!"

New Willow Beach Fishing Pier is Officially Open

The National Park Service and Arizona State Parks celebrated the opening of the new fishing pier at Willow Beach during a ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008. The pier was constructed with funding from the Arizona State Lake Improvement Fund (SLIF) at a cost of $826,872.

This is the first step in a multi-million dollar facility upgrade for the Willow Beach area that will begin early next year. The pier is self-adjusting and is designed to reduce long term operation and maintenance costs. It features an all aluminum structure on recycled molded plastic floats, is fully wheelchair accessible, and provides 2,280 square feet of space for the enjoyment of park visitors.
